19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after spring of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to push for a third set.
He saved four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
